Fiscal Responsibility Implementing Smart Budgets A dedicated record of delivering improved value for our tax dollars. I ask the tough questions to improve accountability and city performance. I pledge to continue this level of scrutiny and diligence to reduce tax increases. Brought forward and supported motions each year to reduce the taxes without compromising service levels. I pledge to continue this dedication to ensure value for your tax dollars. Objectively and critically evaluated potential alternate revenue opportunities, such as the MUC, to verify if they are sound business decisions. I pledge to continue this due diligence with future business proposals, including the solar farm and proposed Municipal Energy Corporation (MEC). Persistent in improving accountability and challenging unnecessary spending. Continue to encourage realistic and affordable solutions to city challenges.
Sound Planning Realistic Plans for Future Growth Continue to respect and involve residents in our planning processes. I fought against and reduced the impact of proposed changes that made it more challenging for the public to speak at council meetings and public hearings. Collaborate with businesses to promote affordable and realistic solutions that will encourage and support businesses. Encourage real solutions to address the traffic issues across the city. Support an updated review of the regional transit decision to verify if the decision will result in efficiencies and savings. Explore non-resident pricing for recreation facilities to ensure taxpayers are not subsidizing non-residents to use our facilities.
Community Preserving Our Character Committed to safeguarding the city’s small town character with a dedication to greenspaces despite regional government pressure to force densification beyond market demand. Dedicated to preserving our parks and greenspaces and protecting our designated parkspace from development. Encourage the expansion of community gardens in local neighbourhoods to maximize the potential of underutilized areas.

Fiscal Responsibility Implementing Smart Budgets A dedicated record of delivering improved value for our tax dollars. I ask the tough questions that improve accountability and city performance. I pledge to continue this level of scrutiny and diligence to keep tax increases under 1.5% annually. Brought forward and supported motions each year to reduce the taxes without compromising service levels. I pledge to continue this dedication to ensure value for your tax dollars. Stood up against the substantial hidden tax increase that occurred through our utility rates. I will continue to take action to restore the funding model to save families $150 per year on their water bills. Persistent in improving accountability and challenging unnecessary spending, such as the painted roads and sidewalks, and the unneeded $5 million roundabout road. Support the use of the internal auditor to improve efficiency and accountability. Continue to encourage realistic and affordable solutions to city challenges, such as my proposal of a library space solution for under a million dollars within St. Albert Place as an alternative to the $20 million library branch.
